Speed Checks

Local Community Officers were joined by volunteers from the PSYV this week conducting speed checks at various locations across the county.

We were pleased to see the vast majority of drivers obeying the speed limit in these areas however there were a number of drivers who were found to driving over the limit. Warning letters will be sent to these drivers in due course and community officers will conduct further checks in these areas.

Although the schools are off this week (we are aware before you comment), the volunteers carried out these checks at or near to some of schools. The volunteers are keen to support young people travel to school safely, therefore please be mindful of speed restrictions across the country particularly near to our schools.
